Police seek public's help to recapture serial rapist

Limpopo and North West Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 33-year-old Boas Jacob Kgatlhane of Thabazimbi, who slipped out of police hands 17 September 2013.

Kgatlhane is facing thirteen (13) rape charges for offences which occurred in Limpopo and North West Provinces. He preyed on teenage girls aged between 14 and 17 since April 2009 until August 2013 when they were walking alone. The charges are - one count of rape in Mecklenburg , three counts of rape in Thabazimbi, two counts of rape at Lethabong (North West) and seven counts of rape at Letlabile (Brits).

Kgatlhane allegedly escaped while being escorted from Brits court to Lehlabile police station where he kicked the door of the police vehicle while stopping at a red robot, then fled.

An on-going operation to recapture Kgatlhane is underway, in the meantime, police are appealing to members of the public who may know of his whereabouts to contact Warrant Officer Samuel Seraka Temane 082 934 6275 or Captain Kgbaithiue Mafotsa 082 269 5175, police crime stop number 08600 10111, Crime Line 32211, or the nearest police station.
