CrimeNet.co.za aims to bring together all Community Crime Combatting Organisations
There are many organisations and community forums that work tirelessly in the fight against crime. These collective efforts work fantastically to reduce crime. However, on many occasions, they just can push crime to other areas, without really eliminating it. Multi-Community Collaboration is the key to eliminating crime in larger areas.
Some areas are very effective in documenting movement and crime trends of criminals. They might even have a database that may contain number plates of suspicious vehicles, or description of suspicious persons. However, this information is limited to just that area. Collaboration of Forums in neighbouring areas can help communities and even the Police Service to be a step ahead, and have information at their fingertips.
Social Media has proven to be extremely effective in spreading out messages to groups when crime. However, this method is effective when crime occurs, but it fails in its storage of this information. If a medium exists to store critical information that is accessible to Anti-Crime Organisations, it would help to counter attacks in new areas. We will be prepared.
A healthy partnership between SAPS, and other Law Enforcement Agencies, and the Community is the only way to effectively combat crime with a single front. We help in combining multiple Police Stations and Community Organisations.
Unfortunately, we create borders to effectively handle crime. However, the biggest downside to this, is that we restrict our activities to a single "bordered" area. This approach works well, if the Criminal is also confined to these borders. However, they are not. Criminals operate regardless of borders. We have seen many cases where SAPS Stations and Community Organisations don't communicate with their neighbouring areas. This creates a haven for criminals to operate. A Criminal will never be identified if he moves to another area. In the event of getting caught, he will be regarded as a first time offender.
At CrimeNet.co.za we will promote discussion between all CPF's, effectively harnessing the brainpower of all Anti-Crime Organisations ; promoting strategies that work across all networks. A well informed, organised community is a safe community.
Together we will Win.
